I finally made it. Thanks to all the great forum members who assisted me on my first S&W revolver project. This is my first try with a digital camera and I wanted to see if I could actually to this upload pictures thing. Well here goes!
Bill, that is a honey of a 1917. That looks as close to perfect as I have ever seen. My only request or suggestion would be to add more lighting. In addition to my camera flash, I put on the overhead light and two desk lamps.
...Thanks for the lighting tip. Your advice on the size of photos paid off, 800x800 max. I noticed the members who take photos outside in the natural light really come out nice, think I'll try that, too.
...don't worry, I won't be giving up my colt 1911's yet. I can switch out a mag without looking which is a lot faster than I can do with these .45 moonclips ...I need a whole lot more practice.
1917s have an allure all their own, firing the largest diameter slug S&W ever accommodated in the biggest frame they ever produced until just a few years ago. And you have a very nice one. Congratulations.
