Does anyone have the factory specs for cylinder gap and headspace on the older .45 ACP revolvers (M25 &M26)?
TIA, and good shooting.

Ummmm...
Slip a empty in a clean cylinder, bring it up on the barrel, slip feeler gauges in till one is snug.

Now measure the empty and add the feeler gauge, you should be near .9"

Couple .001s give or take.....

Guys,
Thanks for the input. My M25s are fine, within the numbers. In the pre-26 the numbers stack up and I've had a couple of FTFs with late Remington factory wadcutter in clips, the only ammo problem I've ever had with this gun.

Clips are.040, rims in this lot are .042. This is .008 short of the .090 plus clearance, which in the pre-26 is .012. The batch of R-P Auto-Rim cases I have a .085 rim, which give a .009 clearance.

FWIW, the 25 is .005 shorter.

Guess I'll have to shoot the rest of the ammo in the 25 or the 1911s.

Good shooting.

HOMIE, just send the darn thing south to me. I know how aggravatin those old pre model 26's can be and why go through all the worry. Just kidding. I've never shot anything but reloads in mine and use Auto Rim as I never have had anything but absolute stinkin time with clips. Wear me out, cut fingers, just not my style. Seriously if that old pre 26 gets too much for you, let me know. Enjoy
Bob
