I saw that one, picked it up and thought "this is a fine specimen of a Mod 27 !":D

It was a great get together with fine folks and high quality handguns.

That's a real looker, congratz!

Where is that jealous button?

Once again Jim you find an amazing pre27. I won't be shocked if next week you find the ONLY 1949 pre27 3.5"..... :D:D

I know.... I know"....... it doesn't exist but I'm sure you will find a way! Great score buddy.

Very Nice, I've been on the "Hunt" for the same gun for a while now, a few weeks ago I spotted a 4" Nickel Colt Diamondback at a local Gun Shop. I took a pic and sent it to my friend as I knew he was a Colt guy. He bought it and when he was picking it up, there was an old guy there dropping of his collection to be sold on consignment. My friend say a "27" and called me. I hauled A** up there and snagged it. 5 Screw, 3.5" original grips, made in 1954-55 & excellent condition. I pick it up in a few days and I'll post a few pics.

When I'm ready to purchase a 27 3.5", I'll post a WTB only on this Forum.

Period.

Excellent. Can't wait to see it!!

I don't think it has. It's a late 1950 after the flat side hammer was discontinued.

Semi target hammer high shoulder Magnas flush FS pins in late 1950, Very Interesting 357 !
Perhaps the N Magnas tapered down around 1953 like their K frame counterparts, havent seen enough of them to pin it down yet.

Sorry I missed Ohio !

I have seen the high shoulder Magnas into 1952 or so, but the flat sided Hammer I have never seen beyond mid 1950 or so. S75947,S75623,S75577 all were before June 1950 and all have had the flat Hammer. This one is S76445 and has the speed Hammer. I will have to see what the letter says. Very interesting.

All my 1950's have the polished down front sight pins, but my 1952 and 2-1954 have the Proud front sight pins. I think it was whoever was on duty that day whether they got polished down or Not. But who knows.
