You just never know. Stopped in to the local Gun Shop and this followed me home. Serial number 905X. Yep, four digit Kit Gun with $475 on the hang tag. Needless to say, even though I was "Just looking" I could not let that sit there one second longer.

Cool gun and exhibition grade stocks to boot!

It is a model of 1953 with a 4-screw sideplate, so likely shipped between 1954 and ‘56. Enjoy!

Very nice. I hope you have confessed your sin of theft! :p

It is probably from 1954, but it might have shipped later. Sweet little item. 2" Kit Guns are among the favorites for plinking of my wife and me. She liked mine so much, I had to get her one for Christmas a few years ago.

I have one with serial number 98xx. Don't have it handy right now to read the full number. Mine is nice but not as nice as yours. I would have grabbed that one for $475 in a heartbeat. Great little revolvers. I also have a 2" 34-1 J frame but I like the smaller 4 screw model better.

Thanks! The Mods were looking out for me...I had erroneously placed this post in the wrong category since I am not used to lucking into anything this old. They got me to the right spot so the knowledgeable guys for this era can comment on its history.

Nice pickup. I have one in much better condition that I picked up for under $150 last year.

Haha just kidding, but I do love mine. It gets shot often, while my 34-1 snub that’s mint is nice to look at.
