I bought the exposed-hammer model, the 351PD, recently and now use it as my everyday carry. It weights 11 oz. unloaded, and truly "slips into a pocket". I think it is an outstanding CCW. For me, it is something I can easily carry, and that makes the difference: larger, heavier handguns require, for me, too much discomfort and as a result, I carried them only occasionally on my person.
Hornady Critical Defense and Speer Gold Dot, both in JHP, are designed for 22 magnum short-barrel revolvers, reducing muzzle blast and burning faster than the rifle ammo. The develop about 1000 fps of muzzle velocity, and penetrate ballistic gel to the same depth as .380 SD ammo.
Seven shots of this is, in my opinion, all the ammo I will every likely need in a self-defense situation. I cannot imagine an assailant taking these to the upper torso and not dropping or, at the very least, stopping an attack. This is serious ammo, despite its relatively small size, and I have decided that I can and will depend on it.
