Have three .22 Magnum revolvers, and had a deuce of a time finding sufficient ammo with which to practice. Needed enough ammo to at least get a feel for the 'aimpoint' of the guns, which all have fixed sights.
One is a 7-shot S&W 351PD w/single/double action, while the other two are 5-shot NAA Mini-Magnums w/single action (one is a Conversion model with both LR and Magnum cylinders). Adding to my frustration at the lack of availability of .22 Mag ammo is the fact I have two speed loaders for the S&W piece, but cannot practice much with them because I'm trying to stretch my meager supply of ammo.
I paid through the nose over a year ago for 500 rounds of .22 Magnum ammo because there was only one source online (or anywhere) which offered it for sale. The price was almost pure robbery, but I HAD to have ammo or else bronze my revolvers and put them on the fireplace mantlepiece as displays, so I paid the price. That is the meager supply which I am nursing along until there is more supply available.
I can only hope that whoever is the original cause of these shortages has his (or her) 'karma' come back to bite him in the behind, and that I get wind of this psychic payback. It would be poetic justice.
