Hi everyone, can't hit anything with My P22 so I want to put my silencer on a 22A. The top rib may make it hard to thread. I saw a 22A-1 that the barrel stuck past the rib about a 1/2". When I looked at it , it had two holes looking up 1/8" from the end. Looks easy to thread. This was a like new used gun in a pawn shop. I called S&W and was told they never made a compensated 22A. Anyone got a idea about it or have had one threaded?

Thanks snowcat

The pawn shop was out of state and they would not ship it. After finding out nothing from S&W , I contacted the pawn shop and convinced them to sell it to me. I picked it up at my FFL's shop, and yes it it ported and on a 6" barrel.
I called S&W again with the ser# and found out they made 260 of them from 3/06 to 4/2006. They call it : 6" ported slab bull barrel.

Anyone see a problem with threading over the two port holes, then they would be covered up.

Yes, when I called S&W, they said they never made a 6" barrel! But when I gave them the ser#, both people I talked to were surprized. I took it to a gun smith and he talked me out of threading it, because of the rareness. So i bought a 5.5" bull bbl and will have it threaded, and the site rail cut down.
