Hello,I just need help finding out when my S&W model 25-5 was made,serial # A1S81xx. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well,it's not actually mine yet,just put it on layaway today.

Thank you guys very much!!I will go by the pawn shop tomorrow and get some pictures.. I think you will like it,medium turn ring on cylinder,other than that almost spotless.. for $849.00 I was pretty happy

I didn't put a tape to is so I wasn't sure if it is a 6 or 6.5,but at least a 6 inch.

OP did very well considering at least local prices in my area of central Virginia.

the even dash numbered 25 are usually 45 ACP and the odd dash numbered are 45 Long Colt. Around here the 45 ACP are in the $750 to $850 range and if you even see them, the odd dash numbered are minimum plus $200....more likely plus $300, boxes, presentation cases, tools and docs always seem to equal plus, plus on top of sell prices.

My 25-2 is shipped 1971, 6-1/2" and with 3T's. If I were selling I would probably ask $950 and see where it goes, so I think the OP got a good deal on a 45 LC with mild turn line.
