Well, Gwimer just "won" a 27-2 5" on Gunbroker for $555...anyone care to guess at whether it shows up on his website or auction at DOUBLE or TRIPLE the price he paid for it?

Goggle George Wimer but hold on to your sense of humor and wallet!!!

HOLY COW!!!

Those are some interesting prices that he came up with! 6k for a 27-2....25,000 for a gold/blue 27-2. And the sad part is, he probably sells some of them.

Good googly moogly, Fred! Who buys at those prices? They should spend some time around these boards....

George is so full of BS that they can bury him in a piano crate when he dies. Unbelievable!

Left this shady character IMO a e-mail through GB on a 3" 66-2 that he was asking 1K for. Mine was an Ashland run with wood grips, his had rubber and the left side looked different, but was rated 99%. Asked about the differences and received no answer. Wrote again and was blocked. I understand supply and demand but this dude is really taking some folks for an expensive ride. Going to google his name now. I HATE liars and thieves!!

He's currently high bidder on a nickel 58. I'd hate to see him get it. It would never be affordable again.

It's easy to fix this. Simply whenever you see this ******* bidding on something send the owner an e-mail letting him know that this Wimer character is planning on listing it for thousands more. Which means it may be worth far more than what he is bidding.

I'm sure Wimer will price it into the stratosphere. He and Mr. Fugate ask insane prices and the people who pay them are even more insane.

I guess I don't see the issue here. GW can pay what he wants for a gun and sell it for what he wants. If the sales price was so low then why didn't somebody else bid it up? If his asking price is so high then knowlegeable people won't buy it. The only downside I see is that someone at the next gun show will think their gun is worth a lot more after seeing GW's asking price.
But you don't have to buy that gun either.

Exactly...well stated. Sort of like a used car lot...if it's priced too high, don't buy it.
That said, I have had a couple of gun show sellers use GW's ads as an example to show their ovrpriced guns were "reasonable". Always good for a chuckle.

Bob
I bet that one is "rare" and he'll post it for $2000.

I've always been astounded by the prices he asks. I can't believe anyone would buy from him, but some people must be doing it.
