Heck, if it's a M27, period, it's a desirable revolver. It's sort of the poster child for S&W, grandchild of the Registered Magnum and one of the longest-running models made, if you start counting in 1935. The dash-two is the longest running of the series (20 years), so it is the most common. That would make it the least desirable in terms of rarity. I think having a dash-six would be more special in some ways, it being the Last of the Mohicans, so to speak.
 
The k38's, the m27, m28, m57, m58, m29, m24, m25 heck there all collectable make mine in nickel finish.
