Pretty clean 29-1 has an 8 3/8 barrel came with a presentation case and grips, will get some pic of the case later. The foam inserts could be re-flocked. Overall the gun is in great shape a little blueing ware at the very tip of the barrel.

I don't think so! I read the serial number as #S229889. If so, that is number 55.

FB67, please confirm the serial number and do you know the ship date? Nosey people want to know! ! !

The serial number is S229839. It is a great example of a Model 29-1 even though the smooth stocks (circa 1969-1974) are replacements for the original coke bottle stocks.

Just for fun, I researched S229889. It is also a 44 Magnum with an 8 3/8-inch barrel with a bright blue finish. It could also be a 29-1 or a 29-2. Invoices do not list the model variation.

I'll admit, even though I've read that figure before, I don't have it committed to memory. Either way, that's an exciting find!

I'm no expert, but been looking for a 29 - 1 .Where did you find this gun and dare I ask how much. The only one I tried to buy was $5000.00

A close friend was commissioned to sell off a gun collection and this was one of the guns. I paid a fair price for this pistol all parties were satisfied. I do want to get some Coke target grips for it but man those are not cheap, would diamond target's make it original ?

No they won't, but whatever you have to pay for the Cokes will be well worth it. Just swallow hard and pay whatever the price is.
You'll get half back, or so, if you sell what is on it now!

And..... JCELECT who has been posting in this thread will re-flock the innards, and refinish the outer if needed!

$5k might not be too far off if it is LNIB. Without the box/tools/etc. you ought to be able to find one for less. I paid $3000-$3500 (bought another at the same time with some negotiation so how much for each is somewhat arbitrary although the asking price was $3500) for this one with later presentation box and tools about a year ago. Expensive, but the problem is finding one for sale. Good luck.
