How would you estimate a fair price for Model 29-2, N21XXX, blued, 4" barrel, almost "like new" condition, no box, no papers?

In this time of crazy prices I would offer $650.00, cash, and see what kind of reaction I got. I would love a 4" 29-2 but as a shooter, not a collector piece.

Thanks for the estimates. Is 29-2 4" bbl more expensive compared to other bbl lengths?

No, I think the 6 1/2-inch is most popular (Dirty Harry connection!?!), but near mint 29-2s from 71 or so are getting pricey these days.

I agree with Doc.... The 6.5 is "King". Expect all 29-2's to easily break the 1k price barrier, even for average guns, and expect fewer to be available even at those prices..

In february of this year I paid $800 plus tax for a total of just under $900 for this -2. Got target grips, factory combat grips (shown in the pic), box, owners manual, warantee card not filled out and cleaning kit.

I have been told by some N-frame lovers here that 4" M29's tend to be more valuable with all other things being equal. I have looked in an older Bluebook and that stated the same thing. It added value for the 4" version. This 29 is my absolute pride and joy in my small collection of 5 S&W revolvers...

I put a 4" 29-2 in almost mint condition on Armslist not long ago. No box/papers, grips were not numbered to the gun, "N" serial number. I was shocked at the amount of interest. Sold for $1100...

model 29-2 4-inch values

a couple of years ago I bought a 29 4" in a presentation case for $1000. I thought it was a good deal and still have it. I have seen these guns in the Cleveland area go for $1500 if NIB. I think the 4" 29 is one of the rarest to come across.
