Morning folks,I just admire these 1905s and am trying to own each barrel length.I'm confused on 3" because my 5th edition doesnt show 1905 in 3".When I google it,it says yes. What model would be oldest Kframe in3"?
Also it lists 6.5 barrel in the earlier changes, but not the 4th.
Someday I'll want a 8.? one, what would earliest model be for that?
Thanks for any imput. Tro.

By "1905s" I assume you are talking about the .38 Special revolvers in the Military & Police line. Based on that assumption, here is my reply.

As far as I can recall, there were no 3" barrels on the K frame revolvers until after WWII. The 8 3/8" barrels were later yet (on the K frames).

The 6 1/2" barrels on the M&Ps were deleted as an option near the end of the first decade of the 20th century. After that, the 6" was the standard longer length.

What Jack said just above! I believe there were no 3" M&Ps until the 1980s or so. The only earlier barrel length other than 4", 5", 6" and 6 1/2" was the 2" M&P introduced in 1935.

While convenient, and often useful, Google is far from the most accurate source for firearms information. Reddit is even worse!
