Elsewhere on this forum is a thread about .32 long. While my Hornady manual restricts me to 750 fps, and factory ammo all seems to be wimpy, some contributors are loading up to 1000fps. And it's mentioned that these loads are being used in K Frame Hand Ejectors and not in the antique top breaks. Good advice I'm sure.

I have a S&W 30-2 J Frame (in good condition) that I carry occasionally when I'm dressed in such a way that it's hard to hide something bigger.

So my question is, is anyone using these hotter loads in a J Frame?

I'd be interested in any advice on the subject, especially specific recipes.

Thanks

Steve

I purched a S&W 16-4 with 6 in. barrel two years ago since I had a large supply of the old Lyman 3118 bullets. That was my rational for the purchase of another reolver - it would have been less expensive to have thrown the bullets away. I load in 327 Mag brass but use either Trail Boss or American Select to produce ca 750 to 800 fps loads. Very accurate and mild report.

At one time S&W advertised that more men good and bad were killed with 32 S&W's than any other caliber - that was a long time ago. Personally I would opt for a J-framed 38 Special for a small carry piece in a revolver.
