Very nice looking! the bottom feeder ain't bad either.

I'm pretty much completely self-defense oriented. It might offer some advantages during range time, but otherwise I think it a overall hindrance in the context of personal defense.
One evening there was a loud bang(turned out to be a shelf falling)from our bathroom. I waited a few seconds and when I heard no farther sound or movements and then went to check it out. I had a 340 M&P on me and it was completely dark in the hallway and the bathroom. As I was moving and trying to see through the darkness, I found that night sight terribly distracting and that it interfered with my night vision. I also noticed it even back lighted me to a minor degree in total darkness.
In a civilian self-defense scenario, you most likely won't even use the sights at all. Threat focused shooting is the norm and preferred as they happen at extremely close quarters, so why have a more expensive night sight with a slightly higher profile that emits radiation(no matter minimal) when I see it as a disadvantage. Is that Speer .357 the 135gr. short barrel load that runs in the neighborhood of a .38/44?
Okay.Just wondering how they handled in a sub pound J.
I'm not military or police.
Would like just a plain one.

If you can handle the Buffalo Bore +Ps in a 642, you can handle 'em.
Get the 340pd, PD in the model stands for Personal Defense.
I like the steel cylinder and front sight of the M&P over the PD but would never carry a gun marked "military and police" when I am neither.

Guess the Ladysmith won't be in your holster either?![]()
