This has some sentimental value. I traded into it from a friend who later became my wife. It was a backup gun and when really cold it was a third gun… I'd carry it in the pocket of my Jacket on traffic stops since I could have my hand in my pocket… warmer and more ready.
When I originally qualified with it we had to shoot a course of fire at 25 yards and with 130gr +P ammo. The barrel shroud/front sight was canted (fixed now by S&W under warranty) and with that ammo I had to hold the front sight high so the bottom of the orange insert was even with the top of the rear sight and put that over the right shoulder of the B27 target… but I passed.
Currently it's less of a carry gun for out and about use, but it's one of my main yard guns and that's big task… sweat, humidity, heat, dust, and often lots of debris… even when carried in a pocket.
I'll never get rid of it.

A joy to carry!
I've carried mine for over 20 years and love it. I even have a 342PD stashed away as a spare!

The perfect pocket carry revolver!
I really like mine, it's perfect for pocket carry. But ammo choice really makes a difference in how it handles. I was shooting 158 grain semi wad cutters +P, I did that one time, never again. I made it through 5 rounds and my hand was numb and realized I was bleeding. That ammo is reserved for a heavy 357 now.
I occasionally carry other guns, but the 343Ti is my primary carry gun. 99% of the time, it's in my right front pocket.

Had one, it was ok for carry. Then arthritis started bothering my shooting had and they are a bit whippy. So sold it for a heavier snubby.
Mine's a little finish challenged, but a great pocket revolver in a Mika pocket holster.
The 342 is among my favorite ankle and pocket guns. A few ounces makes the difference.

I too carry a 342 in an ankle holster or pocket holster, I have no interest in a 340 with magnums after shooting one, once, for about three rounds. Luckily it was a range rental and then I bought a 342. Good 38's will do just fine and the weight is great. BTW I purchased mine in 2004 and it is one of the Smiths I will never sell.

Excellent every day carry. I use Buffalo Bore 20D loads in mine (150 grain hard cast full wadcutter~"pre-expanded" rounds). Alabama pocket holster. Gun is invisible when on me.

Ditto. Got mine on 2003. It wears a Crimson Trace now. Five shots with +P was enough. Best carry gun
