357 Magnum, WHY IN THE WORLD...

Thank you, I guess I'll head over to Brownells.

A decorated spanner nut and the drivers come in many sizes and they come in handy for working on Ruger single action cylinder pin retainers. Nice grips. If someone was trying to make up and mark up a gun as nkl they did a great job. My thinking is factory finish.

It checks all the boxes for original nickle, in my mind. Proud front sight pins, logo is "proud", tight frame to yoke fit. Either Roy was mistaken or the shipping records are in error. I see an "N" in the barrel shroud and under the extractor.

That is about as factory nickel as it gets... The records that Roy referenced appear to be incorrect...

Then If you can find a side plate that works, I'd say you did well. I absolutely would have bought it had I known it left the factory as nickel ...il
I think I might just leave it as is. Maybe I can hold on to it that way. It seems every time I pick up a 3.5" someone offers me stupid money for it.

Finally got those stocks off. Definitely a factory nickle gun. I have a pre-war nickle sideplate, but unfortunately, it won't work.
