.38 Safety Hammerless

My buddy texted me this photo. Found this in a local pawn shop and I'm thinking about going to get it. Looks to be a 4th or 5th model. This is the only photo I have, so I'm not sure if its cut or the real deal. Front sight doesn't look quite right so I'm thinking it might be cut.

Does anyone know how to tell for sure if it was cut or if it really is that short from the factory?

It's cut. The front sight is not a S&W sight. It's missing a few screws, etc., also. Save your money, unless the pawn shop will take $50 for it. Ed.

Agree with Ed. That gun has "butchered" written all over it.
