I own a 39-2 that is like new. What problums or concerns do i have to think about. It shoots great and has only about 2-300 rounds through it? How many rounds befor a new recoil spring? Im a 1911 guy but realy love this Smith. Fits my hand great. Please tell me what you can about how many rounds i can go through befor there are any parts that may break or ware out? Thanks for any help i can get. School me.

39-2s are great guns. Outstanding for concealed carry. Problems? The earlier 39s had extractor issues but that was corrected when the -2 came out. Do you know how old your pistol is? If not, post the first 4 or 5 digits of the SN and we'll be able to give you an appx. ship date. As far as replacing the spring..not really sure on an exact number of rounds before replacing...depends on the type of ammo you're feeding it I'm guessing.
Post a pic if you can...always enjoy looking at like new 39-2s. Good luck with it.

my 39-2 seems to have a problem kickin the emptys out. I have replaced the magazine spring and the recoil spring, but havent been to the range yet.

If the new springs don't fix it then it could also be the extractor causing your problem. I've seen too many times when loading guys drop a rd in the chamber and let the slide go forward. That's tough on the extractors and will chip them causing the problem you have.

I have a new extractor on order. Thats part of the reason I havent been to the range. I may just put it in before I go shoot. Im pretty certain that would fix any issues.
