3913 followed me home from the show

The factory says:
"Good morning Heinz,
Thank you for contacting Smith and Wesson. This was manufactured in August of 1994.
We hope you have a nice day,
-Jerome"
ACEd, thank you for the link and nailed it on the date.

Nice acquisition. The 3913 is a good design and my favorite 9mm in that size niche. I would avoid Promag magazines for defense carry. Factory nags are uncommon but not rare (yet) and can still be found with some difficulty. Sometimes from forum members.

Careful and watchful shopping netted me 15 or so magazines over the last 3-4 years. You can still grab them from pawn shops and gun stores that sell used stuff. I dont pay a dime over $40.
I have a few 39xx pistols. They are fabulous guns

That looks almost like mine. Mine has a couple less steps on the slide release and safety levers. Right down to the rubber grip. (I do have the original light gray plastic grip).
I bought mine at a gun show, and it included 5 mags!
This gun feels great in the hand, shoots great, is flawless in operation, and reasonably accurate. I carried it CCW for quite a while. I also had a 3914 for a while, but one of my students fell in love with it, and she was cute as all get out, so when she begged, I sold it to her. Made her a nice custom holster, too. Yes, a total sucker for a pretty face. This is one gun I will never get rid of, even if it is relegated to side table duty in the living room.
The "NL" depending on who you ask, stands for "non-LadySmith" or "New Look". I maintain that it stands for "Nice lines".

Sold it to her at a loss I bet!
