3913 or 4516

I have a 3913TSW (prerail) and sold my 4516TSW (prerail).

I am a .45ACP fan but decided for CCW, the 3913TSW is thinner, lighter and I shoot it better. Although, the weight of the 4516TSW didn't bother me as much as the thickness. I carry IWB and didn't want to change my wardrobe to accommodate that gun when the 3913TSW carried effortlessly.

Depends on if, and how you carry it......

I'd lean towards favoring the 3913. I love .45's as much an any other American, but the 3913 is simply a champ for concealed carry. And with modern bonded Law Enforcement grade hollowpoints, the 9mm will do the job as well and as fast as .45.

Ultimately go with whatever shoots better, and carrys better for you. Don't hang on to caliber for the sake of it. Both are effective.

I consider the weight of the 4516 an advantage, not a negative, if you ever have to actually shoot the thing, god forbid.

But 3.5" barrels on a .45 seem silly to me, just giving away too much velocity. I had a 4516 and loved how it shot, but sent it down the road. I don't have a 3913, never have, but would probably choose one over a short 45, even though IMO a double stack 9mm is just as easy to carry/conceal.
