I am having issues with my 3913LS with POI vs. POA. I absolutely love the pistol and want to adjust the sight to be dead on for me. My issue is at about 7 yds. with the front sight dot centered on the bulls eye my POI is about 3-4" low and about an 1" left. I had a buddy of mine fire the pistol with the exact same results.

I have used multiple brands of 115grn. FMJ ammunition all with the same results. Groupings are consistent and tight, just low and left.

I'm not too concerned with the windage adjustment as I can drift the rear sight. I'd like to see if anyone had an similar issue and if so what you did to fix it.

Thinking I need to order a new front sight from Novak's.....

you need a shorter front sight to raise your point of impact.

measure your current sight and find a shorter height from either brownells or SW.

I checked Brownells, and it shows a .204" front sight. you might have to call SW for the correct sight.

Hey, if you're plinking, and you want the benefits of cheap 9mm ammo, get the right sight, and you'll make up the cost of the sight in no time. 147 for plinking doesn't make any sense. Now, if you're also carrying the gun, that's another story.

Jeff

By the way, I just had to add "plinking" to my laptop's dictionary, ***???
Stupid laptop.

115grn. is really all the is available in my neck of the woods. Even before the ammunition shortage 147grn. was pretty rare save for some defensive ammo.

But that does bring up a valid point. My current defensive ammunition of choice is Speer 124grn. standard pressure JHP in my HD setup. Due to the shortage and higher prices I haven't tested this ammo through this pistol yet. But, I do need to see how this ammo affects POI. Any ideas on what to expect from 115 to 124 from this pistol?

Anyone know if there are different front sight heights available from S&W? Is there a difference in this and the 3913 TSW sight heights?

You shouldn't see an appreciative difference at common SD distances. Unless you're an accomplished Bullseye Pistol shooter, it will likely be within your wobble zone. Now, 30-50yds may show more POI change, but that's not really a SD distance, "imminent danger" and all that.

I don't know about the TSW sights. I would imagine that S&W would have something that would do what you need in the way of sight heights.
