I really don't think this guy was playing games. He was just sorely misinformed. Once he saw the picture he simply said not interested.

I guess all of us here own the "unreliable" version.

Very fishy if you ask me.

Count me in. My NL was an early one ("THA"...left the factory in AUG 1990), and measures 7/16" across the flat top of the slide. Took her to the range last weekend and was flawless as usual. That measurement was done with a ruler and an eyeball. If I could catch that rounded surface with a caliper, it might be a tad less, maybe 27/64". I'll stay tuned to see if I have an early engineering model.
