OK, so I got bit by the 3rd Gen bug, bad...real bad...but that is a good thing, right??
First off, sorry for the lousy pic, but it does get my point across. I always thought, heard, and read, that the 3913 and the 3953 are the same except for the actions (TDA and DAO). As I thought, they were identical frames and components.
Well, when I compared my 3913TSW to the 3953, the sizes and some features are different. Not sure if this is because the 3913 is a TSW and the 3953 is not. If this is the case and someone can verify please let me know.
But here are the notable differences:
1- The 3913 TSW is about 1/4-1/2" smaller in length to the 3953.
2- The 3913TSW has a smaller stubbier "beavertail" vs. the 3953.
3- The 3913TSW is about 1 ounce lighter. Both pistols are aluminum framed with SS rails.
4- The trigger placement is different
See photo.
Any thoughts or opinions?
