How do I remove the old firing pin and replace it with a longer firing pin from Cylinder and slide?

Does somebody have a link to a video or instructions on how to do this.

Thanks

That one has an internal firing pin. Well, you have to remove the side plate and pull the upper pin. Then the firing pin and spring come out in your hand. Check out the faq sticky above, as I have a diagram of what it looks like. Also if your not sure how to remove the sideplate there is detail strip information in there also.

Here is the print for your pleasure.

38 is the firing pin

97 is the pin that holds in in.

Don't be surprised if you need to clear the firing pins raceway of coal/machining deposits by hand spinning a drill bit back and forth through it. A light clean up with a fine krokus cloth may be needed on the O.D. of the new F/P as well. You'll want it traveling freely in the raceway. Don't forget afterwards, no dry firing W/O snap caps or spent cartridges.
Sure glad 500 has the technical knowledge AND the computer ability to link and string together stuff!
