I have a Model 4013 with full hammer. I bought it new back in 01 or 02. Have not shot it in forever. Want do you think its worth? Its in new condition. Thanks
Its a decocker. Model 4013TSW Ser# MSF 7989
I think I will keep it now! Thanks guys. The Garand is coming along. I am going back to work Monday,so it will speed things up!!!!
I picked up 4013 last week for $450.00. Nice pistol that made me like the .40S&W round again. Before I had a Sigma & M&P. Both great guns but the recoil in a plastic frame gun was no fun. The only reason I got this 4013 is that was used by my local PD and so marked. Heck of great shooting gun.
You paid $450? WOW I got a great deal then!! Lets see the LEO markings. Are they more then just the name like the Atlanta's are?
If I would have been 10 minutes later getting to the vendors booth, I could have missed out on it.
No one has a decocking lever horror story?? I take it, it is just a myth??
i think you did great...nice find.
i recently paid $380.00 shipped for a 4043 with box, manual & 3 mags.
the 4013s are probably worth a little more...good luck with it.
any idea what gun the previous owner traded for?

I would not "trust" a decocking lever, although I've never had one fail. I always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction (at a ground-level floor, bucket of sand, something like that) when decocking ANY double action pistol.
I've never actually heard of any decocker malfunction, but any mechanical device can fail. If you don't trust it, it can't fail you catastrophically.
Here is a link to my post about it:

What decocking lever horror stories have you heard??
