40S&W Ammo To Become Obsolete

There are so many millions of .32 ACP and .25 ACP pistols in circulation all over the world that both calibers will remain in production long after everyone reading this has died.

Careful, with the recommendations coming out of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the preferred LEO round may soon be the 32 S&W Long due to it's accuracy potential and low recoil being perfect for knee shots and minimizing the risk of death for peaceful offenders!

Who said that revolvers wouldn't make a comeback!

I haven't heard anything from the WH about LE cartridges. I think they get a say in whatever they use. State budgets and all. For home defense it's the double barreled shotgun, according to Joe.

Joe and friends have also suggested that LEOs should shoot offenders in the leg rather than center mass, and that they should shoot guns and knives out of offender's hands, all measures to reduce fatalities of mostly peaceful criminal suspects.

Joe has been watching too much TV.

.45 GAP - did anyone ever like this cartridge except Gaston Glock?

If memory serves me right, Springfield had the XD chambered in GAP on store shelves before Glock released the 37. It was short lived however.

Joe also thinks that civilians should use Double Barrel Shotguns for Home Defense and shoot both rounds into the air to scare off Home Invaders.

Furthermore, Joe and company (I sincerely doubt that he has any real friends) have the protection of the United States Secret Service and could otherwise easily afford private bodyguards 24/7, so their opinions regarding self-defense are invalid.

Maybe the swap will dump some Sig P229s on the market at good prices, and magazines to boot. Keeping fingers crossed.

Rosewood

I have recently purchased used Sig P229 357/40 mags for $20 each or less multiple times. Last batch arrived last week $75 for 5 shipped. Batch before was 7 for $150 shipped.

It's not like the 40 has some bullet or case that is unique to the caliber, it's just a short 10mm (with a small pistol primer)

It would be like saying the 38 special is obsolete but let's continue cranking out 357s every day

So long as I own (I have no intention of getting rid of them) my Model 57 S&W and my 1895 Marlin Carbine, there will always be a demand for .41 magnum. phtssss to the idiot who wrote that article.
