Please share your favorite with me. I'm new to the 1911 game. I just aquired a Colt Series 70 Gold Cup National Match. I'd like to see what it will really do.

I use a 200 grain Barry's TMJ bullet with 5.2 grains of AA-2 with a standard large pistol primer.
Works well and burns very clean.

Several loads in this caliber:
230gr PRN, Berry's or Ranier over 4.7gr Bullseye
230gr PRN, Berry's or Ranier over 5.2gr AA#2
200gr LSWC, H&G #68 or Lee clone (Home-cast) over 4.0gr Bullseye

I have several others but these are some that I shoot or my son shoots every week.

185gr LSWC (Bear Creek) over 3.5gr Bulleye with a WLP. I needed to replace the stock recoil spring with a lighter one in order for this load to function, but it was worth it. At least to me! The Bullseye does burn a little dirty at this low charge though. Just punching paper.

I currently use the following:

185 gr LSWC, 3.9 gr Bullseye, Federal 150 primer, seated so just a little shoulder shows above the case mouth. Cycles a standard 16# spring. Excellent accuracy at both 25 and 50 yards.

230 gr FMJ, 5.1 gr W231, Federal 150 primer, 1.26 AOL. Good accuracy at 25 yards, but a little lacking at 50 yards.

230 gr FMJ, 5.6 gr W231, Federal 150 primer, 1.26 AOL. Good accuracy at both 25 and 50 yards.

I've also experimented with Universal and Unique:
230 gr FMJ, 6.0 gr Universal, Federal 150 primer, 1.26 AOL
230 gr FMJ, 6.0 gr Unique, Federal 150 primer, 1.26 AOL

Accuracy of both was similar to my 5.6 gr W231 load. Universal is the cleanest of everything I've tried, and it meters well.

You could probably go +/- .3 gr on the FMJ loads and still get good accuracy, you would need a ransom rest to tell the difference.

My 185 gr LSWC load was given to me by a local bullseye shooter, who did testing with a ransom rest. Since I can't improve on his load, I just used it.

One of my most accurate 25 yard loads:
230 gr FMJ, 5.1 gr Green Dot, WLP, 1.26 AOL. Unfortunately, Green Dot meters horribly, so I quit using it.

This is a good, accurate load. I also recommend a lighter recoil spring. Assuming you have a 16 lb spring, try a 13 lb spring. It'll drop the brass about a foot to your right.

A Nosler 185 gr. JHP over 4.5 grains of Alliant Bullseye. Slight taper crimp .470". Seat the bullet to 1.2" COAL. If this round won't shoot a ten shot group under 3" at 50 yards from your gun from a machine rest then it's the gun, not the ammo.

When I shot a 200 gr. LSWC I used 3.6 gr. Clays & WLP - a nice mild and accurate load. I have opted for a softewr shooting load with a 185 gr. LSWC and 3.8 gr. HS-700X & RLP - ca 720 fps and tested accuracy out to 25 yards. For 50 yards I used 3.8 gr. VV N-310 & WLP behind the 185 gr. LSWC at ca. 790 fps.

4.3 Gr W231 behind a 200 Gr cast SWC and Fed Primer. Recommend yo put in a 12 lb spring to aid in reliable cycling. In my Series 70 Gold Cup with Kart Barrel, it shoots 1.5" at 25 yds.

My goto load is any 230gr bullet over 5.5gr W231. Very accurate and very clean. (by any bullet I mean Jacketed or Lead)
