45 CALIBER internet match

I've no idea how I missed this thread
I don't have much interest in 10yd......

I would like to suggest to OP to please consider a 40yd offhand in a future month
(I don't have 50 yards at my club)

thanks, DaveV

Trulyapostolic.

Beautiful Target. I got out of bullseye (and casting) because lead poisening about 5 years ago. I do miss it. Does your hardball gun have a 4 lb trigger?

I shoot more rifle now. I am paying the same for jacketed 22 bullets as I am 45 LSWC by the thousand.

The trigger is a few ounces over 4 lbs.
I had to deal with my lead issues as well. Indoors I wear a respirator and make sure to wash my hands with lead removing soap. That took care of my problem in 1 year.

how do i get in on this? looks like fun. what are the rules? i have performance center .45 i got back in '95 brand new that i shoot bullseye with - will that work?
(i have 1911, too - but this is S&W Forum) :)

This is what I was hoping for. Lots of folks shooting for fun. I AM going to try again, look at my target, IF I could keep all of them in that one hole.. . .

It does not have to be a Smith to enter.
Enter as many times as you want with what ever 45 you have.

The match rules will be posted on the first of the month just like the Snubby match.

First post updated to this post.

Pic comes from my phone. Text comes from a keyboard.

25-7 Model of 1989 45 colt. Sweet shooter. Purchased new in 1990. Two trigger jobs done, now its as light as can be. I had a scope on it for deer hunting and loaded then hot. I now have a SRH with scope for hunting. This one is now for fun. I shoot hunters silhouette (100 yards max) with that model 25 as my iron sight gun.

Going to keep trying.

Enter early enter often

That is what I have been looking for. I tried again with my model 25. Its a lot of gun to shoot one handed. Going to use my match 45 with match ammo.

This is getting good!

Got to the range today, had to use the Rock River since I don't own a 45 revolver.

I went to the range at lunch time. Burned up 60 rounds in the model 25. Gun is right on, I suck. I tried 6 more targets. No joy.

Hopefully: Placeholder for another October try with a different gun.

Good work (fun) guys!

No target better than what I have.

Perhaps you could explain the military version. I have no idea.

Can't break sub 2" so far, in fact I'm struggling just to break 3"

Guns;

The m1917 has a good SA trigger, but tiny sights. All shooting at 30ft was SA, rt. hand.

Best effort was 2&5/8" using Rem 'high terminal performance' 230gr jhps. These chrono About 756fps in this gun's 5.5" bbl.

The Kimber has good sights, but while it's a good trigger....it's a little harder to work with shooting one handed bullseye style. That's Ok for me, I don't think I'd really want it any lighter for my needs.
The left target was kind of funny. About 5 rounds in, I threw the wide one. Pissed, I just fired the second 5 quickly and they all basically made one ragged hole.

I'll have to work some more on my one handed BE style shooting.
