Dear Forum Friends,
What is your assessment?
This .455 Triple Lock SN. 1839, so produced in 1914.
Will soon be auctioned.
I like it very much, I will try to win it, hopefully within 2000 euros, starting bid 800 euros.

The revolver appears to be in excellent condition, no rollmarks beside the barrel, Smith & Wesson and 455 caliber. All components are correctly numbered. The chambers in the cylinder are still in .455 caliber.

No other photos available.

Paid $2750 plus taxes and shipping for serial # 5200. This was 4 months ago. I posted the revolver on the forum so you can get an idea of the condition compared to the one your considering.
2000 would be a decent deal.

It is a very nice 455. But, I have not idea what so ever on the European market values. Here I would imaging it would start at a minimum of $1,500 and could go for $2,500 or more. $2300US being equal to 2000 Euros
I see 26betsam has a more recent idea than me.

About 9 years ago I paid $700 for this one with the wrong stocks and $200 for the correct ones, It had been reamed and recessed to 45 colt but still fires 455s

revolver valuations are more or less similar, without considering currency market fluctuations and considering the US dollar and the euro at par.
Example of S&W revolver value in 99/100% condition in Italy
10-5 2 or 4" 250 - 500 euros or US dollars
15-3 2 or 4" 350 - 600 euros or US dollars
19-3 2.5 or 4" 450 - 800 euros or US dollars
28-2 4 or 6" 600 - 1000 euros or US dollars
27-2 3.5" 1000 - 1700 euros or US dollars
29-2 6.5" 1000 - 2000 euros or US dollars

Do whatever you need to do to acquire this gorgeous old Triple LOCK!!!! Sell your 27-2 or 29-2's or whatever, sell the cat, dog, parakeet??? I'd keep the wife or girlfriend??? IF, you can raise enough cashola to do the deal??

If you miss this one, two weeks from now you will be crying,, I've got at least a half dozen,, that I'm still crying about, especially the 4" in Michigan that was sold at an asking price of 6500 bucks,, he told me later, well I have lay-a-way...

Now I ended up with a gorgeous 44 Hand Ejector in 44 special, 6 1/2" target, and I spent 400 bucks for some equally gorgeous grips, same as your revolver that it shipped with according to the factory letter..

Fortunately for me, mine was advertised with some poor pictures, I asked for some better pictures, and got a better idea,,, my FFL was even "very impressed", he had never seen, or held one in his hand. I paid too damn much money, 2 very kool round but N frames, and still put in on lay-away... I was a few bucks cheaper than that gorgeous 4 inch, I mean literally, a few bucks.., but worth every penny,, It is gorgous, feels gorgeous in the hand, I can close my eyes, and know that whatever I'm aiming at, "is gonna get 6 rounds of the most powerful handgun on the planet", circa 1916!!!

Days ago I was bidding on a 1954 44 Special Hand ejector 4", that I will cry over almost as bad as that triple lock,, but wifey's health, and kid's moving to Texas with my Grand Baby's, I just could NOT do it in all good Faith!!!

So buy it, and you can give me the credit, or don't, and I'll say "I told you so" here in two weeks when you come back posting in the "want to buy section"... wishing you had dropped the hammer??

Auctions are strange things.
Never know what is going to happen and today's world you could end up bidding against a bot.
But if that fits your collection it is worth putting up a serious bid in the end.
Amazing example.
