I stopped by a LGS today and they had a 4566 TSW with attached rail, 2 magazines, no box, with asking price of $499.99. The grips showed some use, but the rest of the gun looked to be in very good condition, probably 90%. I'd say grips were 80%. I field stripped the 4566 and other than needing to be cleaned the internals looked to be in good shape. I asked for the best cash price and was told $479.99. I walked, but I'm still thinking about it. OTD would be $535. This is the first one I've seen in a while in my town. How hard are these to come by? Should I have jumped on it at that price?

I don't think its an unreasonable price given the condition described. Maybe a tad high but if you like it I don't think you are getting ripped off.

I paid about $425 for similar about 3-4 years ago. Based on that, that price may not be too bad. Really nice guns. The one I have rivals some of my better 1911's in accuracy.

Well now I'm gun rich and cash poor, at least as far as my gun fund is concerned. I was able to get the LGS down to $520 OTD, so not too bad. The only problem was that the FBI instant check system was down so they couldn't run the background check for me today. And the LGS is closed on Monday so it will be Tuesday before I can pick up the 4566.

I also forgot to add earlier that it has night sights, but the lamps are out. I believe I read somewhere on the forum that Trijicon will replace the lamps for about half the cost of new night sights. I'll have to look into that, but after I shoot it some.

Awesome. Believe me, you will not regret it.

Lol.......you're just getting started.

You're about to see just how bad an addiction can get.

Cnette01, I don't think you'll regret your purchase. I've got one myself & it's a ton of fun at the range. You got a reasonable price, too. I look forward to reading your impressions after you get it to the range. And of course, don't forget the pics!

As long as the sights are Trijicons, they will re-lamp them. The last time I had it done it was $54.00. They can be a little slow on turnaround, too.

It evens out. Most ones on Gunbroker go for about $425. By the time you factor shipping and transfer fees, you're pretty close to $500. You might be able to talk him down a little.

I'm going to have to get myself one of these, one of these days.

What I like most about them is the combination of the 4 1/4" barrel with the large frame. There is a symmetry of dimensions there that is very pleasing to the eye. The result is a pistol that is both attractive and fits a niche between the full-size 45s and the compacts. With the rail, you could mount a light and have an excellent nightstand gun, among many other possible uses.

Nice.
