I have a .460V 5" & .460XVR 8 3/8" I was thinking about maybe getting a .500 Magnum. Is there a big difference in them, I know the ammo for the .500 is a lot more cost wise. I was wondering though about recoil and muzzle blast. If it is the same as the .460's I might just stay with them and spend the grand on something else. Anyone who has any information it sure would be appreciated. I have a 29-10 Nickel .44 Mag and a couple .40's H&K & M&P. If the .500 is real close to the .460 I might get something else...Suggestions?? Thanks

Did you post this in the revolver section? Do if you did not. I had the long and short barrel .500SW and decided to trade em off. I want a .460SW. From what I've read, and that is a lot, the .460 is a better all around gun for hunting, to bad I spent over $2k for two .500's only to find out that SW came out with the .460 which is better. I hate that type of marketing and my lack of patience. That's all I am going to say.

Let me know if you put your long barrel .460 on the market on this forum.

Joe.

I have the 500 PC 10 5/8 I think. And the 7 1/2 inch 460PC. I prefer the 460. But thats just my 2 cents worth.

I've had both and as far as felt recoil, it depends on what grain slug you're pushin' thru it.
With a Cor-bon 275 grain it's sweet. It's a whole different story with a 500 grain bullet.

The beauty of the .460 is that it will shoot 45 Colt and .454 casull also.

I liked both of mine.

I have a scoped 460 and have shot a friend of mines 500 and the recoil is very close in my opionion. I shot a little buck a few years back with my 460 and it made an entrance wound I could fit my fist in. Overall I am very happy with it.
