For the most part, I'm a target sighted guy. But occasionally something else catches my eye. And there's something about those 2" barreled 5-screw M&P's that always seem to make me look twice. In looking at the photos, I think that it is the barrel roll mark that makes me think "cool" every time I see one of these.

Is there anyone else out there who feels the same way?

Thanks for letting me share,

I'm a fan too though mines nowhere as nice as those.

Me too, Richard.
Mine, like Jeff's, is older than yours and has the S prefix number. But both the S and early C prefix 2" revolvers are very cool. Jeff's is "more cool" than mine since he has the original stocks, which I do not. Mine has period-correct stocks, but not correctly numbered - they shipped about 9 months before the gun did.
In fact, the only pictures I have of it were when it wore post-1952 stocks. Here's what she looked like at that time:

One of these days, if I get rich, I'll find a nice old snub nose M&P and have it fitted with a suppressor and me for a trench coat. Just so I can track the bad guy down the darkened alley and in the dim light of a distant naked bulb I'll slide it out of my pocket, screw on the suppressor and watch the fear rise in his eyes as he says "NO Johnny, Not that." You know suppressors don't work with revolvers.
Or maybe just find a nice snubby 5-screw M&P period.

I picked up my first one last year for $250 because it was such an unusual looking gun the dealer and I both thought the barrel might have been cut off. It's a 1950 gun, and turned out to be worth double what I paid. That's how I like to buy them when I can.
