Hi folks, I am new here and I work on my own guns when ever possible. I have a 559 that has a broken extractor. I looked up the parts on Numrich and ordered from them and the extractor I received is definetly not the correct one. My fault, theres, I don't care just need to sort this out.
I'm attching some pictures for clarity and to show what I have. I looked at every series 59 drawing that was on thier site and after receiving the parts realized something is off. My extracotr is thicker and uses a plunger where as all the drawings I saw showed an extractor with a pin through it and side pushing spring. I'm open to any suggestions, schenmatics etc and or part numbers here.

A big thanks in advance.
MIke R

Numrichs shows the correct XM9 tool-less extractor in stock under the 459, for half of Jack First’s price. I believe the harder part to source for slides is the spring or plunger. Im sure they would swap it out if you give them an email

Thank you sir!!! Took me a while but with your info I finally found it on the NUmrich site and at $30.00 + thats great!. My plunger and spring are in good shape.

Good day everyone, I wanted to follow up on the end result of this repair. So I did ordeer the extractor pictured above from Numrich but it was not bny any means a direct fit. I understand many gun parts need fitting and this one needed a lot!!! I've attached pics of the old and new, I wanna say I have about three hours in filing on this part to get it just right. Many removals, filing, install, rinse and repeat. But it is relaibly extracting as it should now.
Once again thanks to all. Mike R

I totally love that you followed up on this — so many never do and this is now great information logged here to be tapped in to by anyone in the future.

Furthermore, I have never in my entire life seen a picture of that rare, short-lived extractor, and that is a very cool addition to the forum also.

Lastly…

On the first 52-2 that I ever bought and still own, I had a few extraction issues that concerned me so I punched up Numrich and years back there were two options. A *new* extractor and a used one, so I ordered one of each and WOW were they different.

I installed the new extractor but that was pure folly, there was just no chance it was going to feed and I was correct. Shaping it perfectly to feed and extract is what a pro would do, and what I thought I may have to do… but I took the faster route and installed the used extractor and it worked wonderfully.

On the “to do” list is to shape that new extractor… but it looks like a project I will never get to. 🤣

I try my best to make sure and follow up and or close out a post. As said all to often that doesn't happen.
Definitely a project, my calipers and files got a workout. I'm so happy to get this gun back in order. It's a great shooter, just a range gun. If parts weren't an issue I'd put a dot on it. Take care, Mike R
