I don't like nickel guns (matter of taste) but when I had the chance to pick up a nickel 586-3 with an easily corrected mechanical problem recently I jumped on it because it was priced at half the going rate. I have owned some ugly guns, but you couldn't give me that. Just seeing it will give me flashbacks.
You know that would make a good hunting 357. Replace the stocks with rubber, add a scope, then spray paint the whole thing with od green. Hunt hard and wouldn't in the least bit worry about it.
Wow, I thought my eyes were playing a trick on me. I am to much of a traditionalist to be seen with that one. UNLESS!!!, it was super cheap, (and I mean SUPER cheap) then I would leave it in my rig until dark and sneak it into the shop and see if I could get whatever that finish is, off.
