Greetings fellow Forum friends.

Some time ago I missed a model 617 4" for a reasonable price because I
was cash poor and couldn't swing a deal.
I have not seen one since.

This morning at West Palm Fl. gun show I found a 6" 617 no dash
with the original stocks dated Aug 1 1990.
My sons birthday is August 1st 1988.

I saw it. I liked it. I made the deal. Now I no longer have 617 envy.

Quick pictures in the waning evening light.
And may your 617 dreams come true.

Very nice! I'm eye-balling a 4" no-lock...I'd rather have yours, though. Oh, and by the way, excellent photos.

That's a beauty, glad you found one. A couple of years ago I missed out on a 4" 617 from an estate sale, then the guy handling the estate found this one and made me a deal on it.

A little bird told me Allen might just trade his beautiful new 6" for the same gun in 4".....Hint hint

PS I have handled this gun and it is rock solid and tight as a drum....Now I have 617 envy.

Sir.
Nice K22.

Congratulations on the purchase of the 617 no dash and scratching that itch and great photos by the way.

I couldn't stand it any more. With people wanting so near new price for their used 617's, I bought a new one last week from a local dealer. 617 with 6 inch barrel. One of the most accurate guns I have ever had!

Thanks for "pulling off the scab" on this one Brother.

Was just about over kicking myself on choosing a LNIB 686-4+ in 2.5" over a 617 10 shot prelock in 4" when this thread hits. And to make it worse, the 617 got away on GB for the minimum bid of a whopping $479.00 plus shipping. Just couldn't do two at that time and the 686 won out.

Not like this is a bad problem to have or anything but...still on the list.

Thanks for sharing the pics and spreading the sickness. :)

Man....I'm wanting one of these rimfire guns.

It'd be a lot of fun to shoot with my wife and son.

Allen, very nice gun. I recently purchased a 4" 617 to shoot out of concern about diminishing the value of my K-22's due to blue wear. I now find that the 617 is one of my favorite guns to shoot. It has a great action and is very accurate. The 4" with the full lug has great balance and I really like the combat grips. My only issue is that it is an early gun that is not drilled and tapped and I would love to try a red-dot to help my eyes.

Chicago ,Georgia, New Orleans, San Antonio.
These 22s are really all over the map.

Thanks for the comments.

Magger, I did not mean to pull at your scab.
Suffice it to say, at 8a.m. before the doors opened at the show, this deal was done.
Everyone who saw it throughout the day said; You want to sell it??

We don't see many because they are such great plinkers.
And people keep them close.

Good luck
