Hi All
I'm working on getting my new 625 JM up and running for competition and have the trigger and a load sorted. I now need a set of suitable grips. As much as I liked the feel of the JM grips they are just too small. The quick fix was a set of Pachmayr "Grippers" whose size and fit is great but the "stickiness" is not good for speed. Does anyone have any suggestions for wood, finger groove grips with palm checkering of the same size and shape as the "Grippers". All suggestions gratefully received.
Regards

Though not checkered I really like Ahrends Tactical Fingergroove grips. I haven't compared them directly to the Pachmayr

Ahrends as suggested above. Though my 625 JM is one of the few S&W revolvers I have kept the factory grips on.

Also not checkered, but I have the Hogue hardwood finger groove grips on my JM and love them compared to the factory grip.

For my 625-2 1988 model I put Ahrends fingergroove retro Combats on. They work for me & my smaller hands.

Ahrends - these are the laminated wood ones that make it easy to file and sand to alter to fit your own hands then just finish sand and buff, no finish is needed because the finish is impregnated in the wood. Both of these have been altered to my fit.

I have had around 6 sets of grips/stocks on my JM. Have gotten it better, but still not satisfied. Not giving up. The finger grips are checkered, but not sticky. Bob

Ahrends is what I ended up with on my 625. I wear a size 11 glove and I found a set that was perfect. They have a web site and I think they make custom grips.
