I've misplaced my blue book and would appreciate year of manufacture on this 629-4:
5' from cylinder to tip of barrel. Smith & Wesson on left side of barrel, ported (oval cut 3/16 x 7/16) between front sight and tip of barrel, 44 magnum on right side of barrel, performance center logo on left side of frame, serial # AKG0107, MOD 629-4 behind cylinder yoke. Any help greatly appreciated.....Thanks.

1985 for a 629-4? I think that might be a typo. Weren't the 629-2 being produced about that time?

Thanks for the quick response....I double checked the mod # and it is 629-4.

I was thinking the book or typist might have erred, not your reading of the model number. I have a 629-4 and it was produced well after 1985, about 10 years after if I recall. The 629-2E was the first of the stainless .44 magnums to get the endurance package, and I think that happened at the tail end of the '80s....
