I have the oppertunity to buy a model 629-6 for afar at a good price. i know it has an internal lock but was wondering if it has the two piece barrell. Also would there be any draw back to this model. i am more of a taditionalist any information would be appreciated.

The Standard Catalog of S&W states the two-piece barrel design came with the 629-7 model in 2005

Easy to tell....

Look at the crown of the muzzle and down the barrel. One piece tubes are rifled to the end.

Actually, "2-Piece" barrels are "3-Piece". Barrel, Shroud, and Muzzle Nut.

i cant really look at this gun other than picture being texted to me and emails. how bout internal firing pin? or more? accuracy ?

I have a 629-6 4" and I love it. No to the two piece barrel. I don't mind the lock. Internal firing pin. I don't know exactly what it groups but I'm happy with it. I don't know what you're using it for but the only draw back would be if you wanted to conceal it.
