I had occasion to examine a 642-1 at my LGS last week. This gun has the Performance Center Enhanced Action-no lock. This seems to be the perfect carry gun. Anyone own one of these?

I don't, but I would think that it would be a good gun. I have a 442 I carry every day and the trigger on that one is probably better than mine even after firing some and dry firing a heck of a lot. Mine has gotten better but the J frame triggers are usually kind of heavy and that's one thing I've noticed about the PC guns is they seem to lighten them up some. Or smooth them out.

Despite the heavy trigger I still shoot mine "good enough" and like it very much.

I have one. Has a boot-type grip with inserts, somewhat similar to the Ruger insert system. It's OK, in fact, it's very OK. The DA is a smidge smoother and lighter than the regular models, but not a reason to go out and buy one, except perhaps to fill out an empty space in a collection. There's really only so much you can do with a Centennial.

I have one and like it a lot. Action is a little lighter and a lot smoother than my other j-frames. I really like the grips, which are more "grippy" than the hard plastic grips on most j-frames. Lastly, I love the lack of the lock.
