Did J-frames ever come from the factory with Barami hip-grips before the current production "Model 637 Wyatt Deep Cover" ?

I'm guessing the new 649s in .357 Magnum always came with those rubber "banana" grips. ICBW......

Update

Put on layaway on xmas eve. As of yesterday, a buck 20 more and it will be home!!!

B.T.W., I got my SCSW book this past week. That thing is awesome!!

Get the book, it's only up to 2006, but well worth the money. I think it was $32. and change, free shipping thru B&N online. Go to the store they want like $45 bucks. You can get it "nook Book" a little cheaper, but I love that hard cover book. Got postits all over it already.

I'm still learning my way around as you may need to check several pages for cross referencing.

It found it's way home today!!!! Pics to follow.

Original box, manual, original receipt, grips (Uncle mikes with S&W logo stamped on the insides). And those barami hip grips which I briefly tried, but couldn't warm up to so far.

1 month to the day to find the money for a gun I'm glad I found!!

Did not include master lock or spent casing.

OTD $375.00

Looks to be low mileage, very tight, no marks or dings.

Any thoughts?
