657 Infomation needed Please

My uncle recently past an my Father recieved a very nice S&W, wheeled gun, model 657, 41 magnum with a 6 inch barrell. Can anyone give me some sort of back ground on this, I've look on the internet and theres not much info on it, I can not even find out what year it was made in . looks to be well kept , I want to thank you in advance,hope some one knows something about this 41 magnum. To get the most and best information, at a minimum they will need the serial number (from the butt of the gun).......you can XX the last two digits if you want to. When you open the cylinder, on the yoke is MOD 657---is there a dash with a number after it. Most importantly, a picture of both sides will also be very helpfull.

ok I'll do that in afew but I do know theres no dash just MOD.657

Sounds like a standard stainless version of the Model 57 .41 magnum. Do a search here on 57 or .41 and you'll find tons of info.
