My luck continues. I traded an LCP plus $100 for a very clean 15-4 Nickel (In another post in 1980 to Present forum) and now this. My FFL has been sitting on some estate guns finally got a go ahead to sell and he gave me first dibs.
66-2 4" decent but broken front site
60 no dash but a rattle trap- timing was off and cylinder was sloppy
5904 no mag no rear site
And finally a 66-1 2.5" with a Tyler T grip and trigger shoe in decent shape. Shows some holster wear but locks up tight, no end shake or push off - it's been fired some
I said I'd be interested in the last one
He says $625
SOLD!
A pinned, recessed, red ramp, black rear site, grooved trigger 66-1 in good shape for that price was a no brainer
Well my fun money fund is low but now I have a 15-4 and soon a 66-1 to play with. Have to wait for the permit to come in and like an idiot I didn't take a picture but will when I get it
The day before I gave some 9mm to a friend who retired so karma pays off!
Questions
The serial number is 96Kxxxx which shows a date of 1981 but it has a recessed cylinder.
Where they still using recessed cylinders in 1981?
I know to avoid 125 grain .357 which is fine as all I have at the moment are 158 grain but is there anything to look for or worry about with a recessed cylinder - this will be my first revolver with one.
