66 barrel on 65 frame?

Potential project, cutting 4” to ~3”. Wondering what a 66 barrel would look like on a 65 frame using the residual front sight ramp milled to preferred width to form new fixed front sight? Aka using what is already attached and mill to will…

It would look a lot like the Ladysmith 65.

The bbl will 'fit' (threads) , but the higher rib on the 66 bbl (Target sighted gun) will not mate to the front of the Model65 frame which is profiled lower in the M&P style for fixed sights.

The 66 rib at the rear will be above the front edge of the M65 frame .

At least that's how I remember it when fitting an adj sighted bbl w/rib to an M&P frame. Maybe these are different.
