Bought this 66 a while ago from my local gun shop..it was a retired local Worcester Sheriffs service revolver. He must have had it ultra buffed as it is shinier than most of my nickel guns.At least they didn't buff off any of the lettering or logos.
I also came across a side plate for an 80s K frame with Elmer Keiths likeness and signature, and wanted to use it on a revolver. While waiting for the right blued revolver to come along..I decided to try it on the 66. It actually fit better than the stock one. I had to deburr the frame just a bit,and the side plate as well, but only with a sharp blade with minimal material removed, and very carefully.Time consuming, but hey..it's still winter.
Tapped the oiled plate gently into place, with zero interference. It's amazing how close S&W makes these side plates. (built in the same time frame)
I wasn't sure how it would look..but once done..I like it. After all,I'm its Daddy! Wilson spring upgrade as well as .500 wide TT and TH. Altamont grips.

Shoots like a .357 Magnum K frame should..all 6 in the black!

Ride hard,shoot straight,and speak the truth. Yes,I know that's Jeff Cooper...but it's a great saying..:)

Boy that is nice! I have to ask where you got your wide trigger from? My grandpa had a trigger shoe on his 19 that I grew up shooting, I have been looking for one since I got my own model 19 a few years ago
