686 3" vs 4" bbl

Difference in a 3 inch and a 4 inch 686

All I can come up with is + or - 30 feet per second.

686 3" Talo Update > hammer/trigger NOT forged?

Hello, as an update to my original post, I went in yesterday to sign paperwork on my new TALO edition 686+. As I said in my original post, my understanding was that this gun had a forged hammer and trigger - also supported by the auction listing below:

Smith & Wesson 686 Deluxe Talo Limited Edition 7 Shot 357 Magnum. Type: Revolver. Finish: Satin Stainless Finish. Stock: Checkered Hardwood Laminate With Logo. Sights: Front: Red Ramp Rear: White Outline. Barrel Length: 3". Additional Features 1: Forged Hammer And Trigger. Additional Features 2: Drilled and Tapped. 100% Factory New in S&W hard case with all papers etc.

When I inspected the gun at my FFL dealer, I noticed the trigger is not solid and flat on the backside. Does this mean it's NOT forged? Either way it's a beautiful gun and I'm not going to lose sleep over it (nor the IL) but I'd still like to know what I have. Thanks.

I have a new 2.5 inch but it isn't anything to write home about. If I keep it, I may order the forged trigger & hammer from the SSR. Still, it's the damn lock and transfer bar that I can't seem to get past.
Live and learn...

S&Ws don't have a transfer bar (that's a Ruger thing). The hammer block has been around since at least 1968 and is nothing new.
