Been wanting a short-barreled 686 for a while and finally ran into one today. Our police supply store got in a bunch of confiscated guns from a local police department. A lot of them were junk but there were a few gems. I got three this morning but this was the only S&W. "BSA" prefix should date it to 1994. 2 1/2" barrel and correct Hogue grip. I was extremely happy with $550 plus tax. Now I've got to clean it up and put some nice wood grips on it. Then I'll get a group photo with my 4", 6" and 8 3/8" 686's.

what were the others

Just curious…what were the other two?

Great find on that one! And a super price these days. The -4 Model 686's were some of the very best that were made by Smith and Wesson.

I agree. Both of my 4” 686’s are -4’s. They came from the same store as this one. They were police trade-in’s.

For $550 you did great! Now let's some some gun p0rn...errr... gun pictures. :D
