686-6 ting noise

A couple of O rings on the mainspring isn't going to bother anything. They can't go anywhere else, and are just waving around in the air with the spring.

I like the idea, silicon or vitron rings should last roughly forever.

Cheap fix. Try better ear plugs.

Laketime I put the 686-6 spring in my 686-1 and the noise was present in that unit that had forged parts

My 586 6 inch made a ting the 686 snub didn't

Between the 8 or so Smith's I have, forged and MIM, only one does it, my .500. Pretty hard to hear when you are actually shooting though.
