6900 frame?

Does anyone know of a site that offers stripped or complete frames for 3913, 6906, 910 or 915 3rd gen pistol?

I was offered a 6904 slide and would like to make it whole.

The frame is the gun w/ serial #; so will be hard to find.

I've bought complete uppers before but don't ever recall seeing just the frame!

Yea, I'm in the somewhat same boat. I have several complete slides that I'd like to get a frame for but are like hens teeth to find.

I made an offer, just recently, to a large online gun store, that's currently selling a 6904 with a severely rusted slide. Made them a legit offer but they said no. They'll never sell it at the price they want for it.

The search goes on.

I'm guessing the cost of the project would be more than just buying a 6904. I've never seen Smith frames for sale anywhere. Actually frames for anything other than ARs and a handful of other things are all but unknown.

Get a 5906/04, (or 3906/04,) and run the 6906/04/3913/14 top end on it. 5906’s are still readily available and even great condition ones can be reasonably priced. Of course 3906’s are tough to find now.

I got an extra complete slide to upgrade to a Novak rear. It was too long in the rear on my early 6906 but perfect on my 3906 and 5906.

It is quite rare to find a S&W pistol receiver for sale. Typically it's either buy the whole pistol or just the upper and all the small parts for the receiver. I think many of the slides and small parts are actually from firearms that were seized by law enforcement.

I have a complete 39-2 kit, every part but the receiver. It came from a guy who had a contract with law enforcement to destroy confiscated weapon's. He had to destroy the receiver/frame but he was allowed to harvest any other parts before the destruction. I have been looking for a frame for years with no luck.

Centerfire Systems had some surplus 6906 frames a few years ago but I haven't seen any since then.

No, it's not like the 1911 and it's clones. The S&W slides will only fit and function on S&W receivers.
