6906 VS Glock 19

Is the slide the same on the 3913 as the 6906? Just the frame is thinner, correct?

That is correct. The slide on my 3953 (DAO variant of the 3913) is imprinted 3953/6946 (DAO version of the 6906). I've owned one of each and they interchange. I am assuming the same applies for the 3913/6906.

your comparing a 3rd gen gun to a glock?yikes.

Yikes is right!!!! The only semi-auto I will stake my life on is a S&W 3rd (or 2nd) gen.. Owned both the S&W's and the Glock....only one always(read: "ALWAYS") went bang.

The 19 any day. I won't be contributing to the increasing demand and prices for 3 gen smiths, I lived through that era. Plastic is just better for some things. I won't miss my analog cell phone either.

Thanks......more of the best autos ever made for the rest of us !!

Now....to stay more on point.....for just an improvement on size/weight for ccw....the 6906 has no advantage. It's only advantage is it's ridiculous reliability.

Can't speak for the 6906 but I can for the Glock 19. I have a 19 and it is one of the best. I carry it using a Kholster IWB holster and can go all day with it. Shooting this gun is sweet. My 15 year-old son and wife love shooting it too. I use Federal 147gr HydraShoks in it and can carry 15 rounds!

Silly statement, it's a matter of preference. Both are good guns, each has their strengths. An especially funny statement as well, considering the issues Gen 4 Glocks are having. I'm sure Glock will solve the issue, but as of right now, Gen 2's are the best of the Glocks and that does not say "progress'"

As with most of these types of discussions, whatever you shoot the best is what you should carry. I have Smiths, my Glock preference in the Gen 2 17, but it takes a little more effort to conceal the 17.
